The simple pleasure of Pond Fishing
The love of fishing often begins at the edge of a pond. Even a neighborhood pond can feel like our own private fishing hole, full of life and possibilities.
It's no wonder so many seasoned anglers still can't resist the draw of pond fishing.

So leave your high-tech fishing gadgets behind, grab a pole and a handful of swimbaits, and head to your favorite Pond.

Rigging/ Technique for Pond Fishing
Our 1/16 oz 2/0 ball head jigs are a great place to start when gearing up to fish a Pond. This lighter head means you can reel slowly in Shallow water.
If your pond is full of brush, a jig with a weed guard could be a good choice.

Color Choice for Pond Fishing
Ponds may have more stained, murky water due to the amount of decaying leaves and other debris, as well as the lack of
consistent fresh water flowing in. Where this is true, choose lure colors that are more stark (less see-through).
Swimbaits with at least some Chartreuse or flake are great choices here.

Be mindful of the fish species you'll likely encounter. Common in ponds are Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, and Crappie. Bass will react to more natural hues, while the other species will appreciate fluorescents more.

The following colors are a small sampling of what will work in a Pond. Depending on your area and target species, you'll probably add some other favorites to this list.
